Okay, after a day of almost killing myself with frustration, I think things are back up and running. I’m sure there will be some kinks so if anyone stumbles onto something odd and has the time, please send me a message and let me know.
Oh a super happy note, during all this frustration, I was able to score some amazing handcrafted, hand painted sock blockers from Becky at Leggy Creations. I’ve been wanting a pair for awhile and was lucky enough to be lurking when she posted them.
I believe the Yarn Pirate Etsy shop had an update today, but when I got to the site 20 mins late, yeah I know its all my fault, everything was sold out.
Which is of course is how it happens all the time since there is so much buzz going on. I can’t wait to get my skein from Sheri just so I can fondle it.

If you’ve been around I’m sure you’ll notice I’ve been messin’ with the look of the site. I really liked my old set up with the green because its my favorite color, but since I really don’t know much coding, I did a bit too many copy and paste codes and ended up messing up the template.
ad: I was lucky enough to stumble onto another template that really satisfied me. It’s a bit childish looking but I think its too cute! I don’t want to be a grown up. So hahah I can do whatever I want. LOL
The really awesome thing is that as I work on the site I can knit too since I have to wait for the programs to load to the host. so yay for me! I might just finish the darn sock for Dear BF by the end of this weekend.
******************GRR I’m having major problems with the site right now, for some reason no one can comment or click on certain links. I hope get some help and figure it out soon.
**** I decided to just start over from the beginning and reinstall just about everything. ugh… things will be okay…i hope…

So I’m getting ready for work. It’s about 9pm and I realized that I had read on Sheri’s blog that The Loopy Ewe was having an update tonight where she’ll be having some Yarn Pirate up. I stumble over, I totally missed the update and there was only one colorway left.
I’m not too fond of it, but I just had an urge to get it so I can see what the hype is all about. Seeing as I’m also a free shipping lover I had to get more items just so I can get my free shipping. I’ve been eying the sock blockers for some time now, but have really restrained myself from getting them since wire hangers work just as well. Say goodbye to restraint, I added those to the cart, still not enough yet. So being super generous with myself I thought, hmm lets pick up some Louet Gems in black to make dad some socks. Okay, now I’m a wee bit over the $50 mark, but it’s all good, well hopefull…I don’t need to pay the bills this week…lol

Just a lil’ quick note. I’m still tweaking the site so if you happen to be around when the site is all sorts of crazy looking, it’s just me. I’m slightly going insane because I spend so much time trying to learn how things are coded and where things go. At times I wonder if this was the way to go since I spend more time on fixing up the site rather than my knitting and other aspects of my life such as school. lol. But I’m learning as I go and this is the price for wanting almost full control over my lil’ site.

It took me forever but I had to finish the scarf for my coworker. She’s been expecting it for sometime now. It’s kind of sad because now the weather is getting warmer so she won’t have a chance to use it much. Oh well, as long as it’s done and ready to be gifted. Hurray!!!

Used the full ball/skein of Hobby Lobby Honey Bee yarn.
Pattern: Srunchable Scarf
Cast on: 30 stitches
Final length: just under 7ft
Time it took: felt like forever

An up close picture of the stitch. I really didn’t like the extra thin band of yarn that went around the main one. It just snagged way to much as you can see all the mistakes.
The overall effect is pretty but I don’t know if I can say it was worth it.
Hmm what I learned from making something for someone…I liked knitting the scarf in the beginning but when things started to pile up with work and school, I dreaded working with the scarf because I felt the pressure to finish the item because it was going to be a gift. Then every time I would see my coworker I felt worse because I had not been working on it or that it wasn’t done yet. She never pressured me to finish it, just happy to know she was getting something. But for some reason I just felt bad. This really makes me rethink making things for people. I like working on projects at my own pace and when I feel the need to finish something, there is just no joy in making the item.
Okay…now with the BF socks, oh I am so happy here too! Another 60 rounds for the foot, toe decrease and it is done. After all the re-work and frogging woohoo. I can’t wait to get it out of my sight. I have its twin next to my desk reminding me to finish the darn sock.

I’m really excited that all these projects will be done and eventually I can focus on some items for me. I want to work on more intricate sock patterns with the fancy yarns I’ve been accumulating.

Hola! So here it is, heheh what I can sort of call, mine. An actual place that I can manipulate just a bit further.
Anyhow, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted some yarn pørn so here’s what I was lucky enough to win on eBay…
A very nice Mill End product from Cherry Tree Hill. It’s a whopping 14oz hank geezz makes me really think about getting a swift. I have it pictured with the regular 4oz skein which looks kinda similar…hmmm could it be that I ended up with the mill end of the Wild Cherry colorway?

It’s so soft and squishy. Like a pillow.
