Another silly contest from silly-o me. As the title says, this is a matching game. I give you 10 sock yarn images, you guess who makes them. Don’t worry, I’m not that hard on ya, making you do tons of searching, I’m gonna provide a “word bank”
Here goes:
Word Bank:
As you’ll notice, there are fewer choices than images, that’s because a few will have the same answer. So submit a comment with which yarns you think goes with which answer. Just to make this clear, submit something like. 1. Trekking 2.Opal 3. Brown Sheep 4. etc…
Whoever gets them all correct will win some fun sock yarn. You’ll get to choose from Lorna’s Laces, Koigu, or Fleece Artist. If no one get them all correct the person with the most correct with be the winner. If there are multiple winners, I will do a random drawing. And if no one gets any right…you guessed it…random drawing from all the comments. Hmm I hope that’s all explained correctly.
Okay, you have until 11:59pm Friday (6/1/07) night to post your answers. And just for sneaky purposes, because I’m a kinda sneaky person…if you want to keep your answers a secret just send me an e-mail via the send me a message page (unless you already have my e-mail
than use my e-mail) with your answers and just post something random in the comments section so that when I go back, I can post your answers on your comment so people can see what you thought which was what.
Okay, wow, this is some novel. I hope I covered everything, and if something doesn’t add up, let me know. If I’ve made things confusing, I’m very sorry, I tend to go on and on. Oh and sorry about the crappy pics, I was using a different camera and couldn’t seem to work the sharp focus at all.
GOOD LUCK! Have tons of FUN!
I’m really ticked. Grrrrrrrr. I just updated to the latest wordpress version 2.2 and for some reason all my side widgets are not showing up or they just go fritzy. So my links are not showing up, I really hope to figure this crappiness out.
ETA: Alrighty, I think it’s fixed, if ya’ll catch any weird glitches please let me know.
I’ve been M.I.A. for a bit. I didn’t think working would tire me out so much but gosh, night shifts at the hospital really drain me. I come home and just sleep the day away and then up I go to work, in the dark.
Anyhow, I finally have some socks for submittion to Socktopia, yippee!
Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Inca
Needles: Clover Bamboo DPN US 1 (2.25mm)
CO: 64
Foot Length: 9 inches
Start: 5/15/07
Finish: 5/26/07
These socks are going to an awesome coworker of mine. A very long overdue present.
On a side note, I am working on the contest tonight and it should be up by tomorrow.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic long weekend and enjoying time with their friends/family.
Well, I finally finished the second sock. I did not get the chance to ask my cousin to try out the first one and just went ahead and made the second one. Unfinished projects slightly bother me, especially if they were intended for someone. The yarn wasn’t spectacular to work with. I’ve heard that it softens up nicely after a wash or two so that would be great, since it’s feeling a bit stiff and slightly plastic-like. I’ve soaked them in some wool wash and blocked them. Now my question is, how to ya’ll wrap socks? I fold them and they look weird cuz of the heel and then I try to roll them up and they still look odd. How in the world do I make them pretty and presentable? BTW, I am soooo in love with the Soak wool wash A scent for Celebration fragrance. It just sucks that they make the limited edition ones in such a smaller size bottle.
Start: 4/1/07
Finish: 5/17/07
Co: 64 sts
Needles: Clover DPN Bamboo US 1 (2.25mm)
Garter Rib Stitch pattern (not a great idea to do this pattern with such a crazy sock; too much going on)
Finished foot length: 9.5 inches
I really liked 28 Days Later and had low expectations for the sequel 28 Weeks Later but was pleasantly surprised. The plot was decent, and the characters were interesting. Some of the scenes were really intense, I jumped a few times in my seat. The ending did leave me slightly confused since I tend to over analyze movies thinking there’s always more or that the movie purposely had a hidden meaning sort of deal. But dear BF says that’s how zombie movies are, there is no actual resolution or answer. Over all, if you’re interested in a scary-ish end of the world, disease and infection type of a movie, go check it out.
